Last night my husband Todd and I had the opportunity to attend the Daffodil Ball!  This is a wonderful event that benefits the Canadian Cancer Society.  This year they asked that the guests wear cocktail attire which definitely suits Kelowna more then a full out formal event.  People here are very laid back and the style is super effortless and relaxed.  It was great to see everyone all dressed up for a glamorous night out for such a good cause!

Tis the season for fluctuating temperatures!  Today was a bit blah which was too bad because we have had some lovely days lately but I suppose it is to be expected here in Kelowna this time of year.  This adorable sweater coat is the perfect piece for a day like today!  I needed the extra layer for warmth but still want to dress relevant to the season we are in.  I’m hoping these temps don’t last too long but in the mean time I’ll just twirl around in this!

Another gorgeous day here in the Okanagan!  Summer is right upon us!  This is the perfect little outfit for this amazing weather.  I have been feeling good and am almost 24 weeks along in my pregnancy.  Little Tinkerbell (that’s what we call her) is growing everyday!  Hope you all are having a great Spring as well!

White

I tend to shy away from wearing a lot of white.  And honestly after looking at these pictures I don’t know why!  White is such a fresh look and instantly makes an outfit stand out.  Today I was heading to lunch with my girlfriend Kim (she is amazing and takes a lot of my blog shots and family pictures!) and we decided to stop at Kelowna hot spot “BNA” to take a some pictures!  BNA is so rustic and cool it was definitely the right fit to get a few shots of todays outfit.  I highly recommend checking BNA out if you are in the Kelowna area, the atmosphere has a great vibe and they have amazing craft beer and delicious food!

So Saturday in Kelowna the weather was absolutely spectacular!  We had the kind of heat that we should expect in July, boats were out everywhere and the beaches were crowded!  It’s always so fun to see Lake Okanagan get busy and booming for summer.  Kelowna is a tourist destination in the warmer months for many Canadian’s.  The climate here is shockingly warm for Canada.  Mild winters, hot summers.  And the wineries, oh the wineries!  It’s been called the Napa Valley of Canada because of the amazing opportunities to grow a great grape.  But that is for another post!  Today I’m giving a little preview as to what my beach style will be this year.  We are on the water a ton and I spend almost everyday in a bathing suit during the summer months.  This is the second summer I will spend here pregnant.  I have embraced the bump and still rock bikinis because I just can’t stomach slipping into one of those “tent like” maternity suits.  I also don’t want to spend the money on them to wear them for such a short period.  Instead I opt for mainly black  two pieces that I can order in my regular size bottom and go up a few sizes on the top.  Then when I’m not pregnant I just need to change out the tops again to fit a smaller bust.  While the maternity suits aren’t for me  I did pick up a one piece this year at Target while in Columbus that I hope will stretch with my belly as another option to a bikini!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommy’s out there!  Being a mom is one of the hardest yet most rewarding experiences in life.  I am so grateful to be Maverick’s mama and have another little bambino on the way!  Today we spent a wonderful morning at the Kelowna Golf and Country Club where they put on an amazing Mother’s Day brunch.  We have been going the past two years for Mother’s Day and it never disappoints.  The food is delicious and the setting is so beautiful.  Maverick especially loved running around parts of the course up by the club house!  He just loves to “GO” these days.  I hope that you all got the chance to spend a wonderful day with those you love and the moms got a little relaxation in there too.

Hooray for Cinco de Mayo!!  I absolutely love Mexico and have vacationed there many times.  It’s one of my very favorite places to visit!  Now if only I could have a margarita today!  That will have to wait until next year but I’m halfway through my pregnancy and things are moving fast.  So for this year chips and quac will have to do!  And that is quite alright because I can literally make a meal of chips and guac.

This tunic from Altar’d State I am wearing as a dress.  I find it is plenty long enough for shorter girls to do so.  To me the pattern just screamed “MEXICO” but adding the red bag, lips, and flower in the hair tie the look all together to make it feel really festive for the holiday.  The flowers I just got from Michael’s Craft Store and pinned them with a few bobby pins.  Easy peasy!
